Your Winners! The Love Boat (Bob & Kim Benson)

With a patriotic red, white, and blue theme, The Love Boat took first place in this years Cardboard Regatta! Capt.Stubing (Bob Benson) and Cruise Director Julie (Kim Benson) worked perfectly as a team to glide across the finish line in their aerodynamicly designed craft. Close behind came second place in the Cole's Camo ship with a great team effort! There were many imaginative designs from Jaws, to the Spartan 300 ship, to the Animal House Death Mobile, and even Star Trek 2000! Thanks to all that put so much work into their constructions...this great participation really makes these events fun for all!

We all enjoyed a Chicken Q (with a lot of help from Chef John who manned the kitchen with grilling by the Deckers and Randy). Everyone pitched in with delicious side dishes and desserts, making a wonderful barbeque for all.

The kids then enjoyed swimming and floating on the swim mat, until the Fireworks began. This year we had a new crew with a new show that was absolutely FANTASTIC! They joined music with such different effects that it was truly a show that no one had ever seen before! Everyone agreed that we will have them back again! (a great big Thank You to all that have donated towards the fireworks shows. We cannot have them without you! The next show will be at Winterfest 09).

So the evening ended with a BANG! and all agreeing that the weekend was a great success - start planning your boat designs for next year!
